I was reading this morning in Genesis - Genesis chapter 32 to be exact- and I was struck by how much of the human story is in this chapter: relationships, worry, and family dynamics. Even though God had blessed Jacob abundantly, protected, and guided him, Jacob was afraid. He feared his brother because of past conflicts. So, he spent a lot of time worrying, fretting, and planning ways to manipulate the situation for the best possible outcome. When he finally met his brother, nothing but goodwill was extended to him. All that time and energy was wasted on worry- time that could have been spent enjoying the journey, building relationships with his family, and resting in knowing that God would take care of him.
I am like Jacob way to often - wasting precious time worrying about what-ifs, maybes, and worst-case scenarios. But I'm learning. Sometimes I think I'm a really slow learner, but I guess slow is better than not at all.

These flowers Chris bought me are so pretty on the kitchen table!

I had a helper this morning - she mixed up some yummy baked eggs! Also, the fruits and vegetables for my morning smoothie - I call it my go-go juice!

A friend from church gave us little Easter eggs, crosses, decorated bags, and the paper grass for some fun Easter activities. We used paint pens to decorate and had so much fun putting the grass in the bags. They loved this activity - Thank you, Cindy!

We read a story and watched some videos about Easter - some just for fun and some that told us of the true meaning of Easter.

Some outside fun.

I love these violets that pop up all over our yard each Spring!
